God and Politics

Here we go again and the closer to that election date, more will be said while  using our Lord’s name. Would it be in vain, don’t know but it’s a good thing if it’s truly meant. What has been seen so far is that He gets  tucked into back pockets once their seats are taken. So if we are going to elect officials into office based on speeches with God’s name plugged in – please first pray and do some double-checking in the backgrounds of these individuals. Our written word that comes from Our Almighty Father has several pleas to watch out for  wolves in sheep’s clothing.  Here is one written in the Bible :

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they
are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15”

and here  in Romans 16:17-20  “17 Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. 18 For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. 19 For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good, and innocent in what is evil. 20 And the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.”

Now I am a lost lamb just like my name implies on  this blog and in my life so I know what lies are told because they have come from my own mouth and every time I flashed my bumper stickers proclaiming the Lord. Yes I want that relationship but I am not there so it would be harmful and unwise for me to instruct anyone on the workings of the Lord.

However because of my trespasses can recoginze those who are others can so easily be blindsided from being naive . I have seen them being duped and fleeces of money that they did not have but they believed in the words coming from his mouth that the Lord was present and would bless their out pourings. They were so colorful and elegant verses taken from the bible but even Satan uses the bible to scam us. Just look at what happened to Eve:

Genesis 3:1 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Temptation and Fall of Man

3 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

Not one of them knew he was on the lam for evading child support of his five children and had remarried and he wasn’t on it and she is current wife had to file injured spouses claims so that the government did not take her refunds when it was his debt, not to mention they made a point of making their permanent residence address were in non state tax places. Was this a man of God?

Sure we all mess up and these politicians will continue to do a poor job unless citizens voting on one who proclaims that they have a Godly background  is prayed for incessantly.

Our Father in heaven may have the control but Satan has his foot in the door. Do we vote on what they say or on what they do?

Here’s more on what the Bible has to say:

*In his Epistle to the Galatians, Paul contrasts the fruit of the Spirit with the fruit of the flesh. He shows that strife and discord are the fruit of the flesh, while unity and harmony are the fruit of the Spirit:

For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, take care lest you be consumed by one another. But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you just as I have forewarned you that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another (Galatians 5:13-26).

*James points out this same contrast between the fruit of righteousness and the fruit of the wicked:

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace (James 3:13-18).

The second fruit of falsehood is stumbling. Our Lord Jesus had severe words for any who would be the cause of the stumbling of another, especially one of His “little ones”:

“And whoever causes one of these little ones who believe to stumble, it would be better for him if, with a heavy millstone hung around his neck, he had been cast into the sea” (Mark 9:42).
